Current Volunteer Role: Alumni Career Influencer

How long have you been a GW volunteer and what is your role?

I've been a GW volunteer informally since 2017 for the Elliott School (e.g., attending events to answer prospective student questions) and formally part of the Alumni Career Influencer program since Fall 2023. I also have served as a peer mentor for an Emerson Fellow and continue to informally advise GW undergraduates and Elliott School graduate students.

Why do you choose to volunteer, and what have you gained from the experience?

I enjoyed my experience at the Elliott School and GW, and feel passionately about giving back. I also enjoy mentoring and advising students, and learning from them about their challenges and experiences.

What is your favorite part about serving as a mentor to students?

Helping students with their personal and professional growth and learning from them.

Do you have any advice for fellow alumni who want to connect with students?

Come to in-person and virtual events!
