Get a GWorld Card

Next time you’re on campus, stop by the GWorld Card Office and get your new GWorld card or replace an existing one. GWorld cards are required to gain access to campus facilities, including Gelman Library and Charles E. Smith Athletic Center.

Colonial Cash

If you transition from a student GWorld to an alumni GWorld card within 35 months of your last purchase as a student, any Colonial Cash balance on your student card will carry over to your alumni GWorld card. As a graduate you can add Colonial Cash to your card just like you did when you were a student.

Campus Access and Discounts

GW graduates receive exclusive campus access including gym discounts, library privileges, and parking benefits.

Alumni living in the Foggy Bottom/West End neighborhood are eligible to apply for membership to the Lerner Health and Wellness Center.

You must reside in the area generally bound by 19th Street on the east, Constitution Avenue on the south, Rock Creek Park on the west, and N Street on the north.

The Jacob Burns Law Library provides access to its collections for graduates of the GW Law School. It also offers alumni access to selected databases for locating articles, books and related materials, as well as on-site reference service. A Law School alumni card or GWorld card is required for access.

The Luther W. Brady Art Gallery features several exhibitions each year, including university-related shows and permanent collection exhibitions. Contact the gallery at 202-994-1525 to receive invitations to attend exhibition preview events for alumni.

Parking on GW's Foggy Bottom campus is extremely limited. Alumni attending events or other activities on campus are encouraged to use one of GW's visitor parking garages.

Beginning in 1990, each student receiving an earned degree has a brick engraved with his or her name and degree placed on campus. These personal mementoes form picturesque walkways through the quads and gardens of the Foggy Bottom campus.
Bricks for the classes 2002-2012 are located in University Yard. Bricks for the classes 1990-1995 and 1997-2001 are located in Kogan Plaza. Bricks for the class of 1996 are located in Anniversary Park (F Street between 21st and 22nd Streets).

Notice: Alumni Brick Program

The option for graduates to request an engraved commemorative brick or a library bookplate ended with 2013 graduates.
Although a review of the brick program was initiated because most of the Foggy Bottom brick hardscape spaces already have commemorative bricks, the office of the provost decided that the funds could be better allocated to scholarships.  The program has cost the university approximately $250,000 annually.  Going forward, this funding will be used each year to create a fund in the name of the graduating class to fund scholarships for future students.
