Email & UserID

Your GW email account is your account on GW's university-wide e-mail system. Your UserID is your primary GW username and is the prefix portion of your GW email address (i.e., UserID @ gwu.edu). Your UserID is used to sign in to a variety of GW applications for alumni, including:

In May 2022, GW migrated to the One Identity Management System. During this migration, new GW community members were unable to claim their GW Accounts. New emails began going out on May 30, 2022 with a new link to claim your GW UserID in order to login to the Alumni Directory and access Library services.

A GWid is an alphanumeric value used to identify an individual’s records within GW’s administrative systems. Your GWid is the letter "G" followed by an 8-digit number.
