Your GW email account is your account on GW's university-wide e-mail system. Your NetID is your primary GW username and is the prefix portion of your GW email address ([email protected]). Your NetID is used to sign in to a variety of GW applications for alumni, including:
If you do not know if you have a NetID or had a NetID before but do not remember it, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations at [email protected] or 202-994-6435. Please be prepared to provide your GWID or at least three of the following pieces of identifying information: date of birth, address, phone number, and/or graduation school and year. We will send you your log-in information within two business days.
Alumni of the Corcoran College of Art and Design, Mount Vernon College and Ben Franklin University who did not attend GW and did not receive a GWID during their time as a student can utilize this option by contacting the Office of Alumni Relations at [email protected] or 202-994-6435 for assistance.
Get a NetID
Graduates of 2003 or Later
If you graduated in 2003 or later and have never used your e-mail account or logged into GW systems before, you have not claimed your NetID.
To claim your NetID, you will need to enter your GWid (ID number), name, and date of birth. If you do not know your GWid, please follow the instructions to retrieve it.
If you graduated in 2002 or earlier, you will need to register as a first-time user to receive a NetID. To register, you will need to enter your GWid (ID number), name, and date of birth. If you do not know your GWid, please follow the instructions to retrieve it.
A GWid is an alphanumeric value used to identify an individual’s records within GW’s administrative systems. Your GWid is the letter "G" followed by an 8-digit number.
